At Multus, we’re redefining what’s possible in cell culture media for industrial biomanufacturing - and that ambition attracts global experts who want to be part of the journey. Our Advisory Board includes leaders in science and strategy who choose to work with us because they see the potential of our technology and the strength of our execution. Their insight supports our team as we scale our platform, sharpen our strategy, and accelerate impact across the bioeconomy.

One of those experts is Dr. Frank Klemens, a seasoned investor and bio-inorganic chemist with deep commercial insight into the advanced materials and alternative protein sectors. Frank’s guidance supports our leadership team as we expand our commercial partnerships and grow our footprint across key biomanufacturing markets.

An Experienced Leader in Innovation and Investment

Frank is the Managing Director of the Generation Food Rural Partners Fund at Big Idea Ventures, where he helps scale transformative food and agriculture technologies through venture funding and strategic partnerships. Many of these technologies intersect with the challenges of scalable biomanufacturing, core to Multus’ mission.

Previously, Frank held senior roles at DuPont Ventures, including Managing Director of DuPont Ventures and Director of Licensing, where he identified and pursued strategic opportunities across a portfolio of science-driven innovations. His background combines technical depth - with a PhD in bio-inorganic chemistry from Purdue University - and years of hands-on leadership in bringing new technologies to market.

Frank currently serves on the boards of several innovative biotechs, including TerraSafe Materials, Nexture Bio, BioCloak, BioBond Adhesives, and others. His work directly supports Multus’ commercial and strategic partnerships.

A Strong Fit With Multus’ Commercial Vision

Frank’s experience encompasses science, scale, and commercial success - making him an ideal advisor for us as we use our proprietary, data-driven MediOP™ platform and our deep expertise in cell biology and ingredient qualification to design media for biomanufacturing across medicine, materials, and food.

At Multus, we’ve built an interdisciplinary team that combines deep expertise in cell biology, bioprocessing, and ingredient qualification. Through a lean, capital-efficient approach, we’ve achieved significant milestones with a tight-knit, highly capable team driven by a shared mission.

“Multus is tackling one of the biggest challenges in biomanufacturing with a strong technical team, an innovative AI-enabled platform, and a clear commercial focus,” Frank said. “They’ve built a solid scientific foundation and are now executing at pace. What’s especially impressive is how much they’ve achieved with a small, agile team. I’m excited to support their next phase of growth.”

A Shared Commitment to Impactful Innovation

Frank first connected with Multus through a shared interest in high-impact technologies that can scale in real-world supply chains. His understanding of what it takes to grow, fund, and operationalise innovation makes him a valuable advisor as Multus pushes into new application areas and global markets.

As we continue scaling our media products and AI-enabled platform, Frank’s input will help ensure we build a business that’s as commercially robust as it is scientifically credible.

Multus Co-founder and CEO Cai Linton shared: “Frank brings a mix of scientific credibility and commercial vision. His guidance is helping us build strategic partnerships, understand market dynamics, and shape the future of biomanufacturing at scale.”

As biomanufacturing becomes a strategic priority for governments and industry alike, Frank’s addition to the Advisory Board strengthens our ability to deliver high-performance solutions that unlock scale across sectors.
